Cheapest -cds

CD discs are very very durable unlike vinyl or tapes. Problem with Music CDs is the whopping price the retailers charge. Not that they make a lot of profit. Profit is split right down the line, record company, artists, wholesalers, retailers. Internet downloads are a lot cheaper of course but for me they don`t have the "soul" that a recorded media has. Digital music has its place of course but in our modern throw away society where consumer products are more and more thrust upon us we don`t value anything the same so we lose digital recordings ,because the lap top crashed or the desk top crashed or there was a techy fault and there was no back up. However it isn`t necessary to pay the earth for your music anymore. The internet and auction sites have opened up the music listening market. Most people now buy a Music CD, listen to it a few times and then it is consigned to the dusty CD rack.

Second hand CDs are great value. You can pick up the Beatles White album for example for as little as a fiver. Retailed new you would pay about £18.00 !! Depending upon the genre or artist you are looking for you can get CD albums for as little as 99p. The best thing about second hand Music CDs is the sound quality isn`t second hand. You can always replace the jewel case or packaging but quality storage can be had for just a few pence.

So when you are looking to add to your music collection don`t forget to check out the second hand market via the internet.

Playa Flamingo finished???

Well there is good news and bad news so here goes. The work on Playa Flamingo has been completed!! However there is no sand so the beach is really quite rocky and definitely not child friendly at the moment. Hopefully Yaiza council will find a solution by coming up with the required reddies, a mere 7000 euros im led to believe.

So if you are planning a trip to my favourite isle then make sure your accomodation is nearer Playa Dorada or Playa Blanca town beach. You can find a map to download at http://holidaylanzarote.net/playablanca.....Autumn is a great time to visit Lanzarote and the current weather is brilliant and forecasts for next ten days says much of the same. At this time of the year the North East trade winds are starting to die down so making some of the more exposed beaches just right to enjoy. This time of the year is ideal for those great hiking trips that Lanzarote has to offer. There are many scenic coastal walks and if you fancy a bit more adventure try the hikes from Femes to Playa Quemada or El Risco path down to Famara beach. Dont try this hike unprepared or alone as the pathway (a former goatherders path) can be quite scary in places. Great views across to Graciosa make this a most rewarding hike with the cooling Atlantic on Famara beach to cool off those hot tired feet.

Playa Flamingo

Here is the latest on the popular Playa Flamingo beach situation. It was announced that the work would be complete and the beach open by the end of the first week in August. Guess what? It is still not completed!

The company doing the work ,Costas , have only been given the task of reconstructing the breakwaters or levees . This has cost 3000000 euros. So what`s the problem? Well this being Spain the politicians have got it wrong. Apparently none of the local politicians were aware that the work by Costas doe not include the replenishment of the sand. Well thats a novel idea , a beach with no sand!!Guess how much it wil cost to repenuish the sand? Seven thousand Euros!!! But the local council at Yaiza has no money. Apparently local politicians are seeking the funds from Yaiza council next Monday 16th. So I wont hold my breath then!! A local business has offered to pay for the sand subject to it getting a licence to manage the beach area. Is this a sort of blackmail? or extortion? Yaiza council is always moaning it has no money (Strange that, seeing they relieve everyone with a car of 3 euros for going on Papagayo beaches) that must be a tidy sum or is it just enough to cover the Mayors expenses??
